North Little Rock, August 14, 2023 - The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) recently recognized the exemplary commitment of North Little Rock Wastewater (NLRW) by awarding three prestigious Platinum Awards for five consecutive years of impeccable performance in treatment plant compliance.
NLRW was recognized at an awards ceremony held on July 12, 2023, during NACWA’s Utility Leadership Conference in Louisville, Kentucky, to acknowledge and honor the Platinum Peak Performance honorees.
This award recognizes excellence in wastewater treatment and compliance. NACWA's highest performance recognition is the Platinum Peak Performance Award, which honors treatment facilities that achieved 100 percent compliance with their Federal permit over a consecutive five-year period. This remarkable achievement showcases NLRW's unwavering dedication to environmental stewardship and maintaining the highest standards of water reclamation.
Three of North Little Rock Wastewater’s facilities have been shining examples of responsible water management and environmental protection received Peak Performance awards:

About the Peak Performance Awards
Platinum Awards: Platinum Awards recognize 100% compliance with permits over a consecutive five-year period. Facilities that maintain 100% compliance beyond the initial award are honored with Multi-Platinum Award status.
Gold Awards: Gold Awards are presented to facilities with no permit violations for the entire calendar year.
Silver Awards: Silver Awards are presented to facilities with no more than five violations per calendar year.

North Little Rock Wastewater is State’s largest regional wastewater provider serving the areas of North Little Rock, Maumelle, Sherwood and parts of Pulaski County with 715 miles of sewer lines, 72 pumping stations and four Water Reclamation Facilities discharging treated wastewater into the Arkansas River. NLRW has the capacity to treat 30.6 million gallons per day of average flow with a total peak treatment capacity of 77 million gallons per day.
