SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION
Full-Time Position, Pay Grade 7
Minimum Salary: $20.15/hour
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants meeting the minimum requirements will be evaluated for previous training or experience in the duties, knowledge, skills, and abilities described below.
- Knowledge in basic math including some algebra
- Knowledgeable in basic computer skills
- Ability to read and understand gauges
- Ability to learn and understand laboratory testing procedures including solids analysis, pH measurement, microscopic examination
- Ability to drive a truck
- Must have a valid Arkansas driver's license
- Ability to learn operation of the Activated Sludge Treatment process & make correct operational decisions that affect effluent quality
- Ability to learn treatment concepts & operation of satellite plants
- Ability to learn operation of equipment such as computer-controlled pumps and sludge dewatering belt filter presses
- Ability to understand network of valves and piping to prevent sewerage overflows and damages to equipment
- Ability to work nights and weekends as necessary
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to complete Class I Operators Course and pass state exam
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug testing

- Absenteeism records
- Current job performance ratings
- Reference from previous employers attesting to work habits, punctuality, and reliability.
- Safe driving record
All applicants should be reliable, dependable, hard-working, and must have the ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. Applicants must have the ability to work well with supervisors, department personnel, and the public.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Follow the instructions of the Operations Supervisor
2. Assist in operations of treatment facilities to control flow and treatment of wastewater,
sludge, and effluent
3. Performs routine maintenance functions and housekeeping duties and lawn care
4. Always comply with safety procedures and guidelines
5. Perform lab analysis as directed. Clean tools and return them to their proper place
6. This position is deemed as a critical position and may be required to report to work during inclement weather.
7. Performs any reasonable request within capabilities beneficial to North Little Rock Wastewater Utility
Position not eligible for remote work.
